Edward J. Rendon
Senate President Pro Tempore Appointee
Edward J. Rendon is Director of Pubic Affairs for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Joint Council 42, where he has served since 2001. Mr. Rendon administers the political action program for the largest Teamster Joint Council consisting of 150,000 members in Southern California, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Guam. Mr. Rendon acts as liaison between Teamster Locals and elected officials; responds to legislation impacting Local membership and organized industries; directs Local political and worksite programs; and, conducts the JC 42 Scholarship program. Mr. Rendon previously served as Business Representative and Organizer for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 63.
Mr. Rendon is affiliated with a wide spectrum of community and business organizations. He is an Appointed Member of the Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board and a member of the Western Labor Communications Association. He is a member of the San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board and an instructor for the Los Angeles Labor Center teaching Labor & Politics. Mr. Rendon served on the Unite-LA: School-To-Career Leadership Board, and was named Honorary Deputy for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He was Advisor to the UCLA Labor Center, the Los Angeles Trade Tech Labor Center, and Teamster Skills for Tomorrow, and serves as a City of Chino Hills, Neighborhood Services Leader.
Mr. Rendon earned a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, California. He resides in Chino Hills, California with his wife Alisa and son.
